How to Buy Safely on Resollo
Resollo connects you directly with sellers — for every payment method, Resollo itself never processes or holds the money. That makes it worth knowing exactly what protection you actually have, method by method.
What protection you have, by payment method
You pay the seller directly — Resollo doesn't hold the funds.
Cash
Pay in person at pickup. Check the item before you hand over the cash.
Card
Card payment. If something goes wrong, you may be able to dispute the charge with your bank.
Bank transfer
Bank transfer has no buyer protection and can't be reversed. Only use it with sellers you trust.
PayPal
Use PayPal Goods & Services (not Friends & Family) to keep PayPal Buyer Protection.
Card via Stripe
Processed card payment. Keep your order details — they help if you need to dispute a charge.
Where you stand if something's wrong
The item doesn't match the listing
Check the item on pickup / unboxing. If it doesn't match the listing, contact the seller and Resollo support as soon as possible — your options narrow over time.
The seller lists in a different currency
The seller lists in a different currency. The charge will be in your currency, based on your bank's exchange rate and any foreign transaction fee.

How to size up a seller before you buy
- 1
Reviews are tied to real purchases
Only a buyer who completed that exact order can leave a rating and review — reviews aren't open to anyone, so they reflect actual transactions, not drive-by comments.
- 2
Check the seller's shop page
Every seller has a public profile showing their rating, what else they're selling, and how established they look — worth a glance before you commit.
- 3
For local pickup, you inspect before you pay
If you're meeting in person for cash, you see the item before any money changes hands — walk away if it doesn't match the listing.
Your right of return, when it applies
If a listing is marked as sold by a registered business and it isn't an auction, Resollo gives you a 14-day right of return after you receive the item — following the EU's standard right of withdrawal for transactions within Europe. Request it from your order page, no reason needed. Private, individual-to-individual sales don't carry this right; it's specific to buying from a registered business, so it's worth checking a listing's seller type before you buy if this matters to you.
Frequently asked questions
- Does Resollo hold my payment until I confirm the item arrived?
- No — Resollo doesn't process or hold payment for any method. You pay the seller directly (or via Stripe to their own account); what protection you have depends on the payment method itself, not on Resollo.
- Can I leave a review before my order is marked received?
- No — a review is tied to a specific completed order item, so you can only leave one after that purchase actually went through your account.
- Do I get a right of withdrawal on every purchase?
- No — only on items sold by a registered business, and only if the listing isn't an auction. Private, individual sellers aren't legally required to accept returns.
- What if the item doesn't match the listing?
- Check it as soon as you get it, on pickup or on unboxing. If it doesn't match, contact the seller and Resollo support right away — your options narrow the longer you wait.
- Is bank transfer safe to use?
- Bank transfer has no buyer protection and can't be reversed. Only use it with sellers you trust.
